Overview

Data From Above Until recently, the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), or "Drones," to give people an elevated "birds-eye" view has only been permitted within special use and restricted airspace, by branches of the Department of Defense and their contractors. However, high demand and the practicality of these Systems has forced the FAA to make provisions for Civil and Public entities to operate "Drones" in National Airspace.
